Rap Sheets - Scott Adkins

Struck by lightening? It actually happened to Scott when he was on a high Colorado peak – thus his motto: avoid high mountains in thunderstorms.  However, it’s hard to turnaround when you’re on the way up, and Scott aims for the top.  Beginning his career at Ross Roy (top twenty agency then, now part of BBDO) he then moved to J. Walter Thompson, rising to serve as GM of the JWT Denver office, then GM of the JWT Houston office.  He was also SVP, Executive Management Director, serving on the Executive Leadership Team for the Detroit office (the largest office in the JWT system).  Scott also worked at Young & Rubicam as SVP, Integrated Team Leader directing all work on Lincoln.  He led an Internet start-up company, eVesta.com, and most recently worked at Integer Group /TBWA.

Scott has worked on some of the most successful brands in the world: P&G (Gillette, Braun, Iams, PuR, Eukanuba), Ford (all nameplates, branding and retail, Ford Credit and Ford Service), Shell (corporate, retail, sponsorships), and regional brands such as White Castle, and Qwest.  He has led branding efforts, as well as retail efforts, with experience in all media, from national TV to non-traditional efforts such as micro-blogging, and viral marketing.

He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, where he once played Michael Jordan, and beat him. Okay, it was a game of pool, but still, it was MJ.  He also holds an MBA from Queens University in Charlotte and is graduate of a non-degree program in non-traditional marketing from the University of Colorado.  And he’s also a graduate of the Colorado Mountain Club’s Mountaineering School – lightning strikes not withstanding.
